Bingel Family Origins

A cold and seasick family aboard a ship rolling in heavy North Atlantic seas huddled together as their ship neared an iceberg in mid-1892. They had lived in a small farming village in Central Europe a few weeks earlier; if they survived the voyage to America their plan was to live near “Indian Territory” – not yet called Oklahoma. The family’s name was Bingel, and this is the story of their journey to a new home.
